Fool for Love opened off-Broadway at the Circle Repertory Theatre on May 26,1983 and then transferred to the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre on November 27,1983, where it ran for 1000 performances. Considered a "Revival" for the purposes of the Tony nominations in 2016.
