ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION

London and elsewhere. Between 1837 and 1900.

Comments
The dialogue spoken by Queen Victoria in the play consists entirely of her own words, taken from her private diaries and letters. The dialogue of her contemporaries consists only of words written or spoken by them. The songs are drawn from authentic street ballads circulating through the country at the time except for the Queen's song which is from her own song book and which she sang herself.
